The PROBONO project is hosting a public webinar on 29 January 2026, highlighting a series of technical and social innovation tools being implemented within three of its Living Labs: Dublin, Aarhus, and Porto.
As European cities face growing challenges in transitioning towards sustainable, people-centred neighbourhoods, the PROBONO Living Labs offer concrete examples of how new technologies and community-oriented approaches are being tested on the ground. This one-hour session will provide insights into the tools that are shaping the Greener Building Neighbourhoods of the future.

From Solar Facades to Community Gardens: What to Expect
Each Living Lab will present one technical tool and one social innovation tool that reflects their local strategies and experiences.
In the Dublin Living Lab, the technical presentation will focus on BIPV and BAPV County Hall interventions, which follow SolarPower Europe standards. These are part of ongoing efforts to integrate solar technologies into existing public buildings. On the social innovation side, Dublin will showcase its use of the GeoDesign methodology, a process involving stakeholders in co-defining a shared vision for a Greener Building Neighbourhood in Dún Laoghaire.
The Aarhus Living Lab will present its technical work with VisBlue flow batteries, an innovative technology supporting energy storage and flexibility. Complementing this, the site will introduce the GBN Hub, focused on promoting Human-Centred Regenerative Buildings and Neighbourhoods.
From the Porto Living Lab, the technical tool presented will be the Cool Roof + bi-facial PV solution, applied at the Gaiurb building in collaboration with SOPREMA. On the social innovation side, Porto will share its Community Garden initiative, which fosters sustainability, community involvement, and public space revitalisation.
